= My New Job =

Oh ya, i've changed job. currently working at Bukit Timah. Still doing internal audit, just change company. heh. but every different environment cos commercial the people are much older. (although the people here all look TOO young for their actual age! scary!) hahaha. I find it harder to strike up friendship with some of them since we are in different life stations. There are a few single ladies and only one single guy! hahahaha. cos the whole finance dept on level 4 only got 3 uncles and that single guy joined the Company 1 week after I joined. We always lunch together with my other IA colleague (the one whom i already know before I left my ex-company.) cos the guy prefer to lunch with us - the younger crowd. hohoho.
I'm almost here for one month already however, i'm still adjusting to the work and environment here. Not as relax as i thought it will be. different style of the report writing and audit methods. different timeline. different people working with me. sigh i can only say "I MISS MY EX-COLLEAGUES!" *sobsobz*

I still keep in contact with my ex-colleagues via msn mainly. In addition, had met up with a few of them since i left. They are really busy. Their jobs are like continuous - one after another one. I feel a bit insecure when i am very eng. i fear being useless i guess. plus my probation is 6 months! very long leh... wat if ti dun get confirm even after 6 months?! ya so now u noe the very "off" thoughts that go thru my mind. My only comfort seems to be that its near my house and the pay. But I know that nothing happens by chance and there is a reason why I'm here in this place and not another. I pray that through God's grace i will gradually come to understand and bring Him glory in the things that i do and the work that I produce. :o) Praise be to God!

Last Sat was the first time i saw my ex-colleagues (other than Jestee, Jovy and CY) since i left HFT. heh. a bit awkward. but felt warm when some of them ask me how am I etc. Thanks for your care and concern :)

My collection of Sermon CDs

I cleared my cupboards yesterday and found that I actually have such a tall stack of sermon CDs that dates back to as far as Aug 2005! Wow.... i counted it, one CD short of 40! amazing. hahaha...

Really thank all my brothers and sisters who chipped in $$ to buy them for me :) one CD can buy one person's lunch leh.. so i really appreciate it. Thank God for Sharon who always remember to help me buy and pass it to me :)

Quote of the Day

Initially, i agreed with the quote. However, after giving it some thought, I realise that the "love" in this quote only applies to human beings. After living for some 24 years and around 3 months, I have already come to realise that one human being can only love another human being so much. The love between human beings are very much dependent on the actions and emotions that they receive from another human being.

To put it simply, love between human beings are reciprocal in nature. That's why we have to give before we can receive. Of course, there may be times when we give less than we receive. However, such situations may not be sustainable as human beings are incapable of loving another person unconditionally. Hence, often times we are hurt by another human being due to the lack in affection or love despite your giving. Sometimes people even compare the love given by themselves and the love given by the other party. (but really, how to measure? no measuring cup for such purpose leh)

I agree that we definitely need to put in effort in our relationships and friendships with other people. For example, giving others our time, money and sincere hearts.

However, I'm just thankful that God is not like us; glad that no human being is God. I can't imagine God only loves me when I sing praises to Him or when i pray to Him. Haha.. Praise God that he does not look at what we can do for Him or how much we love Him to determine how much He loves and cares for us!!! Indeed man will fail us but God will not! Hallelujah!
I desire to love others with the love that He has given to me and i wish others will be able to one day experience what I am experiencing today!

Sushi Go Round

Happy weekend~

Rested at home on Saturday.. slept till 2pm.. wah.. slightly more than 12 hours of sleep. think its okay ba haha.. since its to compensate for the lack of sleep in Shanghai.. hee.. woke up still sick.. the sorethroat did not go away.. however, thank God that the cough was better. =)

After service on Sunday, I went shopping with my sister, Lydia. Accompany her to look at phones.. in the end after comparing Nokia 5700 and Sony Ericsson W660i, we thought that W660i is better. (The choice was confirmed when we ask the person from i bot a SD card from about his opinion on the two phones.) After looking at phones, we had a great time shopping in Taka. Both of us went back very fruitful hahaha.. I spent a lot even though I only only bought 2 items. One is a micro SD card from lucky plaza for S$58.85 and a Issey Miyaki perfume for S$78. but did not take photo of the things that i bot.. hehe.. i tok photos of the items that Lydia bought! hee.. Very happy that I got to spend time with Lydia. cos i feel that i seldom get to interact a lot with her. Thank God for giving us the opportunity to get to know each other better =) Hope that in the future there will be many such opportunities!

Super Shopping Day

My last entry was yesterday documenting the many things that i bot. today Jovy and I went to 七浦路， a place selling everything that a woman needs. From bags to shoes to accessories to clothes to nail polish and even to fake eyelashes, you name it and they have it! amazing place with clothes that are cheaper than taiwan and hongkong (though Jovy said that Bangkok clothes cheaper). not as fashionable as taiwan and hongkong but there are good buys there. got nice dress and demin skirt and shorts. nice tee and bags. bot one bag, the basket kind. (reminds me of the pinic basket that my cg frenz and I was toking about) but its very fashionable now in China, Taiwan and HongKong cos its summer.. I bot one in HongKong last year. but haven use it since it broke even though my mum has mended it.. haha.. anyway i have decided to carry the two basket bags for all the wkends in August.. hee...
bot a lot of clothes (got one dress!), 4 toiletries bag, 13 small pouch and a few accessories.. the accessories are cheaper than buying online.. the desgin is the same! I really think that i should buy and sell online. online sgd12 - sgd18 oso got people buy.. hee.. amazing place. last year i did not notice that there are so many stores
selling accessories! I wonder if i have the time to go there and stock up on the accessories on the last day in Shanghai. hee. I even bot a tripod! for my camera.. wanted to buy a hello kitty pouch for the camera but no money to buy le. heh. very very shiok.. but after counting realise that i spend a lot in a day. heh.
btw I also got a new handphone.. heh.. Nokia E61i ... my mum helped me buy in Singapore. heh. cos she has sgd100 starhub voucher. so the hp cost sgd288 after using the voucher. heh.. another major expenditure in the money of July. heh.
Thank God got pay increment (even though I duno how much, but the letter is ready for collection in sg le). hehe..

Great shopping Day!

Yesterday we had a nice Italian dinner at an Italian restaurant, Isola Bella (think it means beautiful island).

Woke up at 12.17pm today and went for lunch with my colleague, Jestee who shared room with me. went to McDonald's near the hotel. the food was not nice at all. standard is low. wonder if Mac conducts checks to ensure the quality of the food. outside Mac there were two stores selling dvds. quite good shows. even got the Taiwan variety show, 康熙来了 and 女人我最大! haha.. then on the road back to the hotel there was a roadside stall selling necklaces and earrings! v nice and not expensive. i bot 4 and a half pairs of earrings and two necklace all for sgd19! cheap or not? hahahaha.. i think i can buy the earrings and sell online.. should have people who would want to buy. see some of the photos below.



However, the weather was very hot and as i kept squatting down and standing up at the roadside store, i started to feel a bit uncomfortable after leaving the roadside store and entering an indoor beverage counter. Squatted down to let my blood go to my brain cos i felt the blacking out feeling. Afraid that i wud faint in the shop. thank God i felt better after squatting down for a while. :)
left the shop and went back to the hotel. must be too hot. the heat is quite unbearable. At night after dinner, when to watson and spent another bomb there. Bot 4 cute magnet stuff toy animal for sgd1 each at another roadside stall. the stuff toy looks like the NICI toys that you can find in gift shops in sg. v cheap and cute. then when to the roadside stalls nears the hotel. found one that sells books. got Harry Porter and the Deathly Hollows (English) there. Finally found Harry Porter and the Order of the Phoenix! bot it for sgd4. its a fake la.. but the prints are fine and clear. hee. cos i dun want to keep so no point buying the real one. i just want to read the story and give it to another person to read. haha. i oso bot 美容大王 by 大S. the first book cos i ored have the second one. only for sgd 2! even cheaper than a magazine! omg. so cheap. hee. v happy that i bot so many things today. tml (later la. cos now ored 3 am) gg to 七浦路 shop again! hee.

Handphone expense

I bought a pre-paid card for use when I was in Xiamen for the past two weeks. Hence, i did not buy a new one when i came to Shanghai. Using a Xiamen pre-paid card in Shanghai means that I have to pay for roaming within the country. Without fully understanding the telephones charges for international calls, i top up RMB 100 on tuesday night and this (thursday) morning, i received a sms saying that my balance is -RMB14.80. Gosh! I only called home on tuesday and wednesday night. about 15 of international call costs RMB100 (approx ~ SGD 20). I used about the same amount for my two weeks in Xiamen. the local roaming plus the international call is so expensive. thinking of buying another sim card but like a bit waste $ and my current number is quite nice. going to force my mom to buy the phoenix card which is so much cheaper.. Haha..
Work has been okay. quite relax. shared room with my colleague. Pre-believer! hooray! hope to know her more. :) Tomorrow is Friday!!! TGFIC ~ Thank God Friday Is Coming! :D

Hello Shanghai!

I am currently in Shanghai.. staying in the same hotel as last year. However, thank God that the hotel has renovated the rooms!! Now the room is so much brighter and the breakfast is better than last year.. haha.. happy.. this year the client help us pay for the Internet in the room.. sigh.. i wonder how many hotels charge Internet usage fees... duh... but the interesting about the room now is that there are desktops in the rooms! :) and there is a "kinky" toilet hahah.. cos the glass is frosted glass.. lucky not transparent glass... haha... see the photo above.. hee... i took some photos of the things i bought too :) the hand cream less than SGD 3! so cheap for such a big tube...the foot cream is quite good to use for my dry feet!! :) finally my feet has found its fren (: hee.. still haven start working.. haha.. was busy uploading photos and updating blog. hee..

heavy mood day..

Today my senior and I spoke less than 10 sentences (including msn conversation).. I only reply him when he ask me question. I asked him where should i put the files he just make a sign to put on the table.. can sense that he is reluctant to talk to me..
Sometimes i really wonder if it is my attitude or its him.. if its me how come i dun have such a problem with other seniors? maybe they are more tolerate than him.. As i talk to my colleague, i cannot help but tell him what happen between the two of us. lucky i didn't cry. would have been super embarrassing if i had.
My manager asked me how was the job. I want to say its okay, but i couldn't. I told her I would talk to her over lunch tomorrow but she smsed me in the evening just now said that her back is aching again. she'll be on MC tml. so postpone our lunch to Wed. But at least tml jovy will be back from leave. so i dun have to face him alone. phew.
I was rather affect after i told my colleague about the tins that happened. As i was walking to the bus stop, i saw Perlini Silver and the big SALE signboard standing in front of it. so i walked towards it.. and i was actually thinking to myself that i can buy a bracelet to cheer myself up. but the funny thing is I dun usually buy bracelets and it so happen that the shop is having 50% sale on all braclet and pendents! I bot a bracelet with 2butterfly.. haha..shopping therapy does help a bit huh :)
But of cos God is still my ultimate comfort and shelter! Hallelujah! Praise God for allowing me to experience all this.. I pray that i'll grow to be a stronger girl. to be able to control my emotions better, to be able to be more objective and not take things too personally! Father, i pray that I will depend on you in all that I do and I will try my best in eveything cos I'm working for You Father and not man. Praise you Lord! I pray that my relationship with my senior will improve gradually.. Thanks you Father. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen!

Returning

Yea.. I'm going to be back in Singapore soon! This Saturday 7.10 am depart from Taiwan :)

Saturday in Taipei

Want to share my Taipei one day trip with u all! :D

Took train from Hsin Chu to Taipei and then took MRT from Taipei Main station to Ding Xi station all because we want to go the the famous 世界豆漿大王 to eat 油條 and 豆漿! haha..

this is the menu.. haha.. we order 油條, 豆漿, 蛋燒餅 and carrot cake! 蛋燒餅 is the one that looks like roti prata.. its not really nice cos a bit too dry..the 油條, 豆漿 and carrot cake are quite nice...i'll recommend the carrot cake. hee.


then we set off to Dan Shui (淡水) where i bot a lot of goodies to bring back to Singapore! Bought 2 pkts of Tie Dan (鉄蛋) from the original Ah Po Tie Dan (阿婆鉄蛋).

Its actually boiled chicken eggs that were placed under the sun to make it lose its water content. Bought 3 boxes of jelly (Guo Dong) and 2 pkts of Muah Chee and 1 box of v nice cookies.. haha.. a lot ba? carried a big and heavy plastic bag as i walk to Dan Shui MRT station..heavy leh..
I bought very nice earrings from Dan Shui accessories and 6 hand phone accessories. the Hp accessory is the one that will blink when there is light. haha...

After Dan Shui, my senior and I went our own ways.. cos the places we wan to go is different. haha.. so i went to 誠品書店 near Taipei 101 and he went to Taipei 101 and Xi Men Ding. I spent quite some time in the bookshop browsing books. After adding more weight to what i already had i moved on to take the MRT. Shilin.. to eat and shop! :

Friday Nite

hello hello.. it has been ages since i update my personal blog.. too lazy to do it.. haha often sentences will form in my head as i carry out some activities, then i will think to myself "hmm.. i can write this in my blog." hee.. but in i'm so lazy that even though i on my computer i refuse to blog.. haha.. I'm now in Hsin Chu, Taiwan. hehe.. was here since last mon.. on a job.. now in client's office. nothing to do as yet cos client is helpin me to look for the documents.. so taking a break to blog some stuff :)

Went to Taipei last sat.. had some friction with my senior last friday. i wento buy mister donut while he waited for me at the city square (where he can watch performance). Long queue at Mister Donut, so i waited for quite some time. I was afraid that my senior will be frustrated with waiting..tt's y i ask him if he is okay with waiting for me.. he said fine.. i finally bought my donut after queuing for ten minutes. Was walking towards the square to look for him..but i stopped and browse when i walk pass the shops selling shoes and cute stuff.. so i tink i took an even longer time. then my senior appeared and called me.. i browse for a v little while more before gg to look for him.. then we started walking back.. initially we wanted to buy the fried sweet potato at Cheng Huang Miao. in the end he said he dun wan. I tot that i have my donuts so i dun want hte sqeet potato either. then he started walking very fast. letting me fall behind. a tot he very anxious to go back quickly.. but it turns out that actually its because he is angry. asked him wat what's wrong with him and he did not reply. only when i tried asking him again. he den said "Don't you think you are very rude? walk off without telling me and make me wait. i tot you went back already!"

I was quite pissed off with his reaction. why do u think i'm so untrustworthy that i will walk off without saying anything? I'm not such a person lo! I should have ask him to go back to hotel first if i knew such things will happen. was super downcast and discourage. then when i got back to my hotel room, i on the TV for the first time after 5 days in the hotel.. then saw good news TC channel.. a channel that shows services and sermons. and i joined in the praise and worship.make me felt so much better.. was filling with joy after that... God is indeed a good God! :)

This photo was taken at the place where u make IC if you lost it (MRT Station: Lavendar). I dunno wat's the name of the building. Anyway, i was accompanying my brother there, cos his IC was stolen and had to make a new one. This drawing captured my attention as its the same drawing that i learnt from my art teacher when i was in Primary school. I think i've entered it into an art competition and this is the drawing of another contestant. Probably she was the winner.. i cant remember. It looks like the drawing style of my neighbour whom took art lessons from the same teacher as me. How nostalgic to see it after so many years. =)

Why did i post this photo? cos its memorable? Notice sumtins different about sharon.. okie maybe you o can't guess la.. its her earrings.. its a gift from Li Lin. Both Peiru and I tot it looks nice on her but she say she'll only wear it once.. cos its too big.. so i have to somehow think of a way to make this "once" last rite?

Hahaha.. but as much as i enjoy reading the messages, i enjoyed the celebration. Honestly, every year when i nears my birthday i'm quite afraid. hahhaa.. even though i enjoy birthday celebration. Other peoples' birthday parties/celebration. Cos i'm afraid that there's no areas in my life where ppl can affirm when the sharing time comes. I noe i'm being insecure.. hope to grown out of it and have a breakthrough knowing that i do not live for man's affirmation. =)

today i came home straight after work. After my dinner followed by the attempt to adjust the seat of the bicycle for ten minutes (which was spent in vain), i set off with my bike (with a seat that is quite high for the 159cm me). After a 15-20 minutes journey i arrived at Sha's place. After she got her bike, we rode together in a single file (that's what we learnt in Pri 5 when we went to Road Safety park, rem? ahh.. those were the days..) with teck whye as our destination. We chit-chat while riding our bicycles. We did not forget to take in the night scenery of choa chu kang...the streest were rather peaceful.. little people on the pavement hence making our ride a smooth one.. occasionally, there will be another cyclist or joggers (i did a spell check, there is such a word..now then i know). It quite exciting as we turn into the road to Pioneer Junior College, Teck Whye Pri School and Teck Whye Sec School. I thank God i am not a student there. haha.. the school is super duper far from the main road. image walking to sku on a hot warm afternoon? *sweat*
