Night cycling with Sharon!

today i came home straight after work. After my dinner followed by the attempt to adjust the seat of the bicycle for ten minutes (which was spent in vain), i set off with my bike (with a seat that is quite high for the 159cm me). After a 15-20 minutes journey i arrived at Sha's place. After she got her bike, we rode together in a single file (that's what we learnt in Pri 5 when we went to Road Safety park, rem? ahh.. those were the days..) with teck whye as our destination. We chit-chat while riding our bicycles. We did not forget to take in the night scenery of choa chu kang...the streest were rather peaceful.. little people on the pavement hence making our ride a smooth one.. occasionally, there will be another cyclist or joggers (i did a spell check, there is such a word..now then i know). It quite exciting as we turn into the road to Pioneer Junior College, Teck Whye Pri School and Teck Whye Sec School. I thank God i am not a student there. haha.. the school is super duper far from the main road. image walking to sku on a hot warm afternoon? *sweat*

Yupz, i took up a hip-hop class! hahaha...even though i think hip-hop and peanut is a bad combi. But who cares so much as long as i can learn sumtin and at the same time 减肥.. hehehe... anyway new experiences are good. For the past 2 lessons we learnt 4 sets of 8. Today i struggled to keep up with the pace of the instructor and remembering the dance steps. But its still fun..hehe.. Last wk's dance steps seem easier. more turns and leg-crossings today.

I decided that i'm going to record myself dance. To ensure that i will continue to remember the steps taught in lesson 1 even after the course. whether to show the video to the world, that's a decision yet to be made. hehe.

God : Sure. Activity gets you busy. But productivity gets you results. Activity consumes time. Productivity frees it.
Me: I understand. But I still can't figure out. By the way, I was not expecting YOU to buzz me on instant messaging chat.
God : Well I wanted to resolve your fight for time, by giving you some clarity. In this net era, I wanted to reach you through the medium you are comfortable with.
Me: Tell me, why has life become complicated now?
God : Stop analyzing life. Just live it. Analysis is what makes it complicated.
Me: why are we then constantly unhappy?
God : Your today is the tomorrow that you worried about yesterday. You are worrying because you are analyzing. Worrying has become your habit. That's why you are not happy.
Me: But how can we not worry when there is so much uncertainty
God : Uncertainty is inevitable, but worrying is optional
Me: But then, there is so much pain due to uncertainty.
God : Pain is inevitable, but suffering is optional.
Me: If suffering is optional, why do good people always suffer?
God : Diamond cannot be polished without friction. Gold cannot be purified without fire. Good people go through trials, but don't suffer. With that experience, their life become better not bitter.
Me: You mean to say such experience is useful?
God : Yes. In every terms, Experience is a hard teacher. She gives the test first and the lessons afterwards.
Me: But still, why should we go through such tests? Why cant we be free from problems
God : Problems are Purposeful Roadblocks Offering Beneficial Lessons (to) Enhance Mental Strength. Inner strength comes from struggle and endurance, not when you are free from problems.
Me: Frankly in the midst of so many problems, we don't know where we are heading..
God : If you look outside you will not know where you are heading. Look inside. Looking outside, you dream. Looking inside, you awaken. Eyes provide sight. Heart provides insight.
Me: Sometimes not succeeding fast seems to hurt more than moving in the right direction. What should I do?
God : Success is a measure as decided by others. Satisfaction is a measure as decided by you. Knowing the road ahead is more satisfying than knowing you rode ahead. You work with the compass. Let others work with the clock.
Me: In tough times, how do you stay motivated?
God : Always look at how far you have come rather than how far you have to go. Always count your blessing, not what you are missing.
Me: What surprises you about people?
God : when they suffer they ask, "why me?" When they prosper, they never ask "Why me" Everyone wishes to have truth on their side, but few want to be on the side of the truth
Me: Sometimes I ask, who am I, why am I here. I can't get the answer.
God : Seek not to find who you are, but to determine who you want to be. Stop looking for a purpose as to why you are here. Create it. Life is not a process of discovery but a process of creation.
Me: How can I get the best out of life
God : Face your past without regret. Handle your present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear.
Me: One last question. Sometimes I feel my prayers are not answered.
God : There are no unanswered prayers. At times the answer is NO.

God : Well. Keep the faith and drop the fear. Don't believe your doubts and doubt your beliefs. Life is a mystery to solve not a problem to resolve. Trust me. Life is wonderful if you know how to live.

Happy New Year in Kluang!

Guoqiang, Sharon, He Bing and myself travelled across the causeway to our Hebing's hometown, Kluang and spent a most unique new year ever in our lives! It's a interesting, fun and enriching trip! I got to know new friends too!! He Bing's friends, Yuxin, Shi Wei, Zheng Kang and Chuan Biao took the time and effort to guide us on a 2 days 1 nite tour in Kluang. Note Kluang and Klang is different hor.. Kluang not famous for bak ku teh hor.. hehe.. its famous for the railway coffee which we tasted on the second day.. (i'll post the photos after i get them from Sharon..)

We went to the dargonfruit plantation first before we arrived in Klang. (No photos are they are with Sharon..)

We climbed Gunung Lambak on the first day after we arrived in Kluang.

We finally got half way up.. However, we stopped there.. hee.. no stamina.. have to train up!!! It was then that gq, hb, sha and i decide that we are gg to take part in this year's standard chartered marathon so as to train ourselves and keep fit.

At night we spent the time in Yuxin's house.. Yuxin's Mum stayed up with us just to chit chat with us. They are very hospitable. Her mum even made tapioca cakes and chin chow drink for us. very nice! (2nd row from the right: Yuxin's Mum, Yuxin's boyfriend - Shi Wei, Yu Xin, Guoqiang. 1st row from the right: Zheng Kang, Sharon, He Bing and that's me who moved and as a result blocked He Bing. *oops*)

We started the second day by charging ourselves up with the famous railway kopi and traditional egg and toast breakfast. (author's note: I totally love toast and kopi.. my idea of a perfect breakfast.) hehe.. after our batteries are full, we went to Yuxin's house again.. this time to visit the botanical garden which spans from behind her house to the slope in front of her house. you can find all sorts of vegetation that you can think of from the vegetables you eat everyday. tomato, rambutan, guava, mango, mint leaves, carrot...... and the list goes on and on and on... she took us deeper into the vegetation on the slope and show us a well. its pretty cool isn't it? A well leh! not something you can findn easily in Singapore! wahaha.. we took turns to fetch water from the well and wash our hands with the cool water..

After that, we visited He Bing's Secondary School (which is also Chuan Biao and Zheng Kang's sec sku) and then proceed to Yuxin's Dad's oil palm plantation...another thing you can't find in our tiny island..

Finally, like the chinese saying: all feasts have an ending (tian1 xia4 mei2 you3 bu2 san4 de4 yan4 xi2).. before we part, we had dim sum for lunch.. very nice!! and quite cheap too.. the carrot cake is super nice!! a must eat.. i think i'll list it in the "10 things you have to try in Kluang"

1) Conquer Gunung Lambak

2) Have traditional breakfast at railway coffee

3) Try the carrot cake at this teochew dim sum restaurant which i duno the name..*sheesh*

4) Visit the botanical garden at Yuxin's house

5) Visit Prime City Hotel.. or even better is to live in it

6) Have dinner at Jin Jin Restaurant (best restaurant in Kluang)

7) Visit the rubber plantation and oil plam plantations (you might get to see a bear or kena bee attack if you are lucky)

8) Buy television brand coffee powder (supposed to be famous i think, i've bot it but have yet to try so can't comment on the taste yet.. hehe..)

9) We visited He Bing's secondary school.. but if you think its not exciting enough try exploring other places.. i cant think of any already.. heh..

10) Try the taipoca cakes Yuxin's mum made. But i guess this is the hardest to achieve. Wahaha!

I'm truly blessed by the celebration with my Caregroup (the people inside this photo), Donut and Coconut (see photo below) and Jasmine (bottom centre photo). Especially thankful that Jasmine came despite her busy schedule. =) Thanks Jasmine, for the company and the pressie!

It a great joy to have friends and even greater joy to have true friends whom you can rely in bad times and share the lovely moments in your life. Many times i fail as a friend. I took my friends for granted. Missing appointments with them all because i overslept, forgetting their birthdays, never take the initiative to contact them and asking them out (this happens more often with the increased frequency of travelling), letting my tiredness affect the mood of the time we spend together... and the list goes on..

Probably, there will never exist a perfect friend. Of course, except Jesus. However, all of us try to be the best friend we can be to another and that's what makes this life enjoyable. ^^,

Forgive me friends for the times i've let you!!! Hope we will continue to persever in our friendship and make it grow strong in the new year!

Another day to praise God!

I will praise God everyday!
Today has been another working day.. not much difference from the day before.. there is gratitude towards God for giving me an opportunity to share some tots and convictions with a friend.. A friend who once was committed to God.. She told me to keep her in prayers! Hooray! praise God that her heart has not harden! I shall pray for her!

Dear God, thank you once again for this wonderful life that you have given me.. Thank you for blessing me with ur presence.. i truly thank you that you are workin through not only my life but also my friend's life. Indeed Lord, we are blessed that you cared for us and that you love us so much that you sent Jesus to die for us.. Father i pray that you'll show urself to be true and faithful to her and that her heart will soften for you to enter once again. Father, i can neva express how grateful i am to u.. i can only make this decision to serve u all of my life. Lord, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. In Jesus name. Amen

Praise God!

Heyo ppl! wana share sumtin.. actually today I was felling rather down.. think mood swings (i seem to be getting it often nowadays..probably due to the stress). was so down that i felt like not gg to sub district prayer meet. but in the end i still went and guess wat??! I'm totally amazed by God! the prayer meet was great, praise and worship was ministering..Before the prayer meet started, i prayed to God that i will leave the place with a grateful heart and to be soak in his presence.. Praise the Lord! because he answers prayers! \(^^,)/

God is great.. not only that.. I was totally blessed by the ppl ard me today.. =) First of all was Kelly who gave me a key that she bot in Thailand.. So sweet of her! (^^)

Then was Eileen who prayed for me =) cos i was telling her that i'm very disappointed and sianz.. and true enuff i felt better after the prayer and i guess oso from noeing that i have such a caring friend. Thanks Eileen! *hugz*

Then Shu Hui and Edward this cute "couple" bot me a pOOky bear! (^^D) (refer to the photos above) haha.. i didn't except them to buy me the bear haha.. i was really happy and touched hehe.. Thanks guys! really happy to be in the same job as ur.. hope we can work tog agn.. hope our frenship continue to grow even when we are in different jobs.. (^^)

Just now i received Edward's sms, he told me he opened the present that i bot for him.. its actually a Bible. I bot him one cos he lost his in the hotel in Xiamen and haven got a new one since. He said that the Bible that i gave him is the same as the first Bible he received from Weehan when he was in NTU. However, he gave that Bible to his neighbour after he got his a NKJV bible. Now the Bible is back. I'm so glad God placed Edward in this company. Thank God for a brother in Christ in the company, so that we can look out for each other. There was a time when Edward backslided and he prayed to God when he was in my current company. Not long after that, he was booked on the same job as Jovy and i. Really thank God that we can be together in the same job as we can have fellowship and not hestitate to share spiritually things.

What is even better is that my mom told me that she prayed for my brother to do well in his exam and my brother actually got a bursary from CDAC (should be CDAC ba..). Actually i didnt noe that she prayed.. Thank God for the opportunity! Then i asked her if she believes in God. She hestitates.. she say its not the right time yet.. even though she hasnt decide to make the decide but the day shouldn't be far! Praise God!! He is really worthy to be praised! i really thank God!

My day wasn't so smooth halfway thru the day.. however, God filled me with so many surprises and really touched me by the end of the day.. ('',) God has proven himself so real to me.. how can i ever deny that He exists?? God is my love forever and ever... (^^)

"no la, i mean she anyhow is your senior, if is regarding the work, you should repect her and just follow the instruction. unless you think she is not reasonable. how can you just blackface bcos your senior is blackface. she has the expectation on you, sometimes bcos of the communication not effective, you may misunderstand her instruction. then just re-do if she is not happy with you work. nothing else, after that you guys still need to support each other. anyway, neither of you should take it personally."

great.. now my boss noes that i had a disagreement with my senior and what's more.. he thinks that i don't like my senior.. best lor.. then why did i buy her a CD for? wat is this world coming to? Ppl assumes this and that. People dun trust each other. People cannot relate to each other. People starts hating people. I'm tired of work, tired of life, tired of travelling, tired of feeling so distant to ppl i once noe so well, tired of everytin in my life.. i wan to call it quits.. but how? I dun feel capable of getting another job.. i dun have the money to go europe. i dun even have money to go taiwan. and i spent $700+ in just 3 days. What is this? This is not life to the fullest.. This is crap.

previously there were plans to go nite cycling tonite with Shenteng, Peiru and Sharon.. however, yday nite Daddy said "No."
Boy, it was disappointing...

but its okie, cos tml Huanjie, Guoqiang, Hebing and Shuxuan are gg to ECP to cycle and i'm joining them! (^^)v

Today after service, Guoqiang, Sharon, Hebing, Huanjie and I went to watch a movie, The Departed, @ GV Vivo City..even got a chance to enjoy the movie in GV MAX (bigger cinema).. i saw the gold class seats.. plush seats that can be reclined! will go one day haha... Guoqiang also took the honour of being the ambassador of Singapore by introducing to me (the tourist) to this garden city.. keke...

oh ya.. dun watch the movie if you haven.. the HongKong version is MUCH better.. ;)

22 Oct 2006 - Lessons learnt on Sunday

Today during unit prayer meet, Jian Ming gave a very interesting and at the same time well illustrated analogy:
Knowing God is like making tea..
first we boil the water. then we dip the tea bag into the water. now wat happens? water starts to have some colour rite? Now, dip the tea bag a few more times.. wat happens? colour of the liquid turns darker.. leave the tea bag in the water and the tea formed will become more and more saturated..
as we dip ouselves and gradually soak ourselves in the word of God, we will be saturated with the presence of God.. i believe wat Jian Ming said is true and hope that i can practise it faithfully..

Praise God for he is good! God spoke to me agn in the service..when we were singing "How Great Is Our God" it was then that God made me realise how small i have made God become in my heart for the past month... the words, "How Great Is Our God" came out of my mouth, yet i noe in my heart, i've viewed my problems and stress greater than God.. How can I? how unworthy I am to receive God's grace.... but thank God! he is a forgiveing God! He is loving and instead of condemning... I pray that i'll constantly remember that God is greater and all my problems placed together and that God is always in control.. Thank you, Lord.
